The Village Palms Retirement Village at Shirley, Christchurch provides 34 assisted care apartments at ground floor level and 62 care units above.
Located in a residential area, resource consent was required for the project. The high-quality residential feel of the design, and scale sympathetic to the surrounding area, ensured that the project achieved resource consent with any objections.
The project also pioneered the use of prefabricated bathrooms, constructed off-site, to achieve time and quality benefits.
