Stoke Greenmeadows Centre

Stoke Greenmeadows Centre

Developed as part of an urban design strategy intended to drive future development, the Greenmeadows Centre provides a sports and social hub for the Stoke community. Facilities including a hall, function rooms, changing rooms, and café.

The distinctive silhouette echoes the site’s sloping topography, and the forms of the Richmond and Western Ranges which wrap around the city.

Floor to ceiling glazing is used at ground level to provide daylight, access and visibility of the activities inside the Centre, as well as supporting a safer exterior pedestrian environment.

The building sweeps down from a two storey pavilion and changing room facing the adjacent sports ground, to the café fronting Main Road Stoke. A new pedestrian plaza forms a fresh civic frontage.

Plywood soffits bring warmth to the exterior and continue inside to the major spaces, complementing the exposed engineered timber beams of the roof structure.
