The 551m² office is a study in timber tectonics. Cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels form the floors and walls, while laminated veneer lumber (LVL) defines the stairs, posts, and beams; deliberate material choices to expose the structure and celebrate the building’s anatomy. These materials aren’t just sustainable; they’re expressive, drawing our attention to the tactility of construction.

A western screen façade filters light and heat, casting shifting patterns across the interior while reducing solar gain. The exterior palette of Abodo timber, is warm, resilient, and locally attuned. Inside, recycled wood wool acoustic panels soften the soundscape, while a double-height atrium at reception creates a generous threshold into the open-plan upper level.

The adjacent 1,040m² workshop continues the architectural language with five-ribbed metal cladding and clear roof panels that invite daylight into the space. Solar panels line the roof, supporting energy efficiency and reinforcing the project’s environmental ambitions. A break room and outdoor deck offer a change in pace for users.

This project is a reflection of JTB Architects’ design ethos, creating buildings that are grounded in place, responsive to climate, and shaped by the people who use them.
