This development is proposed for the heart of Te Aro within easy walking distance for the whole of the Wellington CBD and the waterfront. The design compliments Wellington City Council’s plans for Taranaki St as a “Southern Gateway ” boulevard with a medium rise format set back from the street to allow for an active edge of retail and café space along the wide tree-lined footpath. Behind the retail space there is a large 2 level carpark under a large courtyard featuring a 30m pool, a tennis court and formal gardens making both active and passive recreation available on site for the residents. The 3 major apartment buildings contain over 240 apartments that include varying façades that reduce the street wall scale into smaller blocks that match the surrounding city form.
