This refurbishment of the Port Nelson offices revitalises a 1950s transport warehouse into a modern, collaborative open plan workspace.

The transformation breathes fresh life into the old building, which was previously a maze of unused spaces. The design approach conserves the heritage value of the building and references the history of the port.

Using contemporary workplace design principles, the redesign provides flexible open-plan office space with specialist collaboration technology incorporated.

Separate board and meeting rooms, dedicated reception and entry spaces, and staff kitchenette, cafeteria and toilets round out the 500m2 plan.

The adaptive reuse refurbishment of the Port Nelson offices transforms a 1950's warehouse into a modern, open plan workplace.

Glazing added to the original saw tooth gable walls brings daylight deep into the floor plan.

Historic photos showing the early life of the port are used throughout on meeting room glazing.
